The Business Events Penang 2024 Annual Review showcases a year of exceptional growth, reinforcing Penang’s position as a leading destination for Business Events. In 2024, the state successfully hosted 2,059 business events, representing a substantial 240.9% increase compared to the previous year.

The Business Events Penang 2023 Annual Review stands as a pivotal occasion, encapsulating the extensive array of events hosted in Penang over the past year. From bustling conferences to impactful exhibitions, the evening promises to offer a comprehensive summary of the diverse range of events that graced the state, showcasing their profound impact and outcomes.
2022
2022 has been a very important and significant year for the entire nation, especially the tourism industry. From being the first one to close and the last one to reopen, the last two years have been an extremely challenging phase of time which eventually determined the survival of the fittest. Many sectors adapted in the face of adversity but some could not and resorted to the closure of their businesses.
2021
Penang, Malaysia: 2021 has been a year of re-strategising and rejuvenation for Business Events Penang. Our persistence and positive mindset has carried us through another challenging year, and our partners have proven their resilience and adaptability in pivoting to the Next Normal.
2020
Penang, Malaysia: Despite the halt on international travel and limitations for business events, Penang recorded a total of 156 events with 19,283 participants and 48,963 room nights.
2019
The Estimated Economic Impact (EEI) for the Business Events industry grew by 50% over the past two years, from RM1,003 million in 2017 to RM1,503 million in 2019.
2018
Business Events Penang industry had achieved an Estimated Economic Impact (EEI) of RM 1,312,897,291 for the year 2018, a 31% increase from 2017.
2017
The 2017 Review is a result of the year-long data collection initiative by PCEB to document the success of Penang’s Business Events industry. The in-depth review provides statistics and comparisons of the all the sectors and markets that contribute to the Business Events industry in Penang.
2016
In our first year of operations, PCEB carried out a comprehensive data collecting exercise, resulting in Penang’s first ever Business Events industry review. Titled ‘Vision Insight’, the 2016 Review provides an analysis of business events activities in the state demonstrating the key trends and factors that affect the industry. It also contains a summary of PCEB’s activities in their first year of operations.
